Celebrate your pet and relax with these 5 fun and simple popular pet yoga poses. Don’t worry if you haven’t tried yoga before, just give it a try. Just get into something comfortable, clear an area, take your shoes off and remember to have fun. You can try some of the yoga poses below or be creative and make up your own poses by copying your pet.

Play like a puppy

You may have heard of the popular yoga pose; downward facing dog. To complete this pose, place your hands and feet on the ground and step back until you are in a V shape, with your bottom in the air. You look just like a puppy playing in the backyard.

Stretch like a kitten

To practice the cat pose, get down on all fours, round your back up and tuck your chin into your chest. Just like a kitten taking a stretch after a nice long nap.

Swim like a goldfish

This pose is also known as locust pose. To get in this pose, lie on your tummy and lift your chest, shoulders and feet up off the ground. Next, look up. You look just like a goldfish swimming around their tank.

Crouch like a bunny

To practice the hare pose, sit on your knees and slowly place your head on the ground. Rest your hands on your ankles. Lift up your bottom being careful not to put too much pressure on your head. You look just like a bunny waiting for their snack.

Run like a guinea pig

To pose is also known as happy baby pose. To get in this pose, lie on your back with your chin tucked in. Hug your knees into your chest and grab your feet with your hands. You look just like a guinea pig running along excitedly.

 
 
 

If you want, you can finish off with resting pose by lying on your back with your feet out and your hands by your side. Take a few deep breaths and relax. You can try placing a teddy on your stomach to feel the rise and fall of your stomach.
