Christmas is almost here, which means it’s time to get working on your Christmas gift lists. It can be a hectic time shopping for your family, friends and work colleagues. Do you normally buy a gift for your furry friend too? If so, we have a list of ideas to help make your shopping a little easier.

  1. Stocking – you can buy reusable pet stockings (made from felt or material) to add to your family collection. You can also buy pet stockings that are already pre-filled with goodies for your furry friend.

  2. Toys – you can never have too many toys to keep your pet entertained. Invest in a good quality chew, rope or puzzle toy to keep them busy during the day. Do they need a new plush toy to snuggle up to? Check out our pet toy sale, while stocks last! There are plenty of interactive toys for cats such as laser, robotic, wand and puzzle toys. Rabbits and guinea pigs just love a new chew toy.

  3. Treats – we all love to treat ourselves on Christmas day so why not treat our pets too! Get them their favourite treat or invest in a hamper of goodies that you can use throughout the holiday season. Treats are handy for training too!

  4. Gift hamper – pick up a gift hamper suited to your pet’s personality or create one yourself. Do they love to play? Do they have a brand of favourite treats? Do they need a new collar or winter coat? A new blanket or teddy?

  5. Clothing – does your pet get cold over winter and need a coat to keep them warm. Bandanas can be a cute addition for your pet, especially if you can find one with a Christmas design! There is also plenty of Christmas costume pieces for pets such as t-shirts, headbands or even a festive collar. Just make sure your pet is supervised and comfortable in their special outfit.

  6. Bedding - Christmas is a great time to update your pet’s bedding and blankets. There are so many different styles to choose from. It will also be a great place for them to relax and unwind during the busy festive season.

  7. Grooming - invest in some good quality grooming items such as pet shampoo, brushes, nail clippers etc. Not only will your pet look great throughout the holiday season, but they will also love all the special care and attention they get from their new grooming set.

  8. Car travel – pet restraints are important for travel safety and the holiday season often involves a trip in the car at some point. Invest in a good quality seat belt harness or pet carrier/crate. You can also create a travel pack with items such as a water bottle, collapsible bottle, pooper scooper bags, treats, towel, toys, blanket, first aid kit etc.

  9. Exercise – all pets need daily exercise to expend their energy and prevent boredom. Does your pet need a new collar, ID tag or lead? What about active toys such as a new ball, rope toy or frisbee? There are plenty of exercise toys for cats and pocket pets to keep them active too. Playing with your pet throughout the festive season will help keep you active too!

  10. Pet portrait – book in a pet portrait for your furry pal. There are plenty of pet photographers around. You can also arrange to have a portrait hand painted or drawn of your pet. Your pet’s portrait could be all about them or include human family members too. Whichever portrait you choose, it will be cherished forever.
