Top 10 places in and around Narre Warren North to walk your dog

There are plenty of parks and reserves in Narre Warren North and surrounding suburbs that welcome both you and your dogs. These parks each offer a variety of wonderful features, however one thing they all have in common is a place for you to enjoy the sunshine, take in some fresh air and walk around the great outdoors with your furry friend.  

 

1. Kurll Park Reserve

Where: 147I Robinson Road, Narre Warren North

Large reserve with scenic lookout and picnic grounds. There is a gravelled car park at Bundrette Road entrance. From here it’s a short walk up a hill to the open parklands. There is a dedicated plaque and compass that points to the many distant places. There are some picnic tables near gum trees and the park is filled with plenty of bushland and open space to walk your dog and take in the sights.

2. Narre Warren North Reserve

Where: 209-219 Belgrave-Hallam Rd, Narre Warren North

Open space and walking track. Also includes two football ovals. Eumemmerring Creek runs along the back end of the Reserve (behind football ovals).

3. Kolora Park Oval Fenced Dog Park

Where: 11-13 McKenzie Lane, Narre Warren North

A fenced dog park located in Kalora Park. There are two fenced areas one for larger and one for smaller dogs, each with bins and water containers. The park also includes a playground, oval, netball courts and memorial garden.

This area was funded and built by Berwick Obedience Dog Club and only members are allowed during times of operation. Times of operation are normally 11.30am-4.30pm, however check first before going. There are also grassy areas around the enclosed spaces where dogs can run around.

 

4. Jack Thompson Reserve

Where: 87-103 Fox Rd, Narre Warren North

Large fenced reserve home to Berwick City Soccer Club. Includes two soccer ovals, playground and large grassy area to run around with your dog.

5. Gunns Road Reserve Dog Park

Where: 23-47 Gunns Rd, Hallam

Lots of open space for the dog to run around. Includes walking trails, off leash fenced off area and playground. There is also a lake and BBQ facilities.

6. Seebeck Drive Reserve Dog Park

Where: Seebeck Dr, Narre Warren South

 Great open space with perimeter fencing, drinking fountains and seating. Includes fenced off area for dogs with waste bag dispensers.

7. Wilson Botanic Park

Where: 668 Princes Highway, Berwick

Large park with 39 hectares to explore. Great place to take your dog for a walk on their lead. There are plenty of walking tracks to choose from. There is also picnic areas, BBQ facilities and playground. There are dog bags available at the entrances to the park and dogs must be on their lead at all times. 8. 1001 Steps Bayview Park

Where: 188T Quarry Rd, Narre Warren

Public parkland and walking track inspired by 1,000 steps in Ferntree Gully. Great workout, incredible views and dog friendly. Built with exactly 1,001 steps and designed to suit most fitness levels.  9. Ray Bastin Reserve

Where: 2-14 Norfolk Dr, Narre Warren VIC 3805, Australia

4.5 hectare regional park, includes a skate park, dirt BMX track, playground, toilets, BBQ facilities and plenty of open lawn areas and shade to enjoy with dogs. Dogs must be on their lead at all times.

10. Sweeney Reserve

Where: Dempster Way & Melzak Way, Berwick

Large park featuring various athletic fields, lakes area, walking trails and cycling paths. Ample space to let your dog run around. Ample trees and shade. No drinking taps so be sure to bring your own water.
